Dental Implants
Dental Implants
Often, patients have been left with no other option than to have an extraction of an unrestorable tooth, the space left may be replaced by a denture (false teeth) or bridge. Dental implants offer another option to the restoration of this space.
Dental Implants can restore the space of one tooth or can be used as an anchor for a bridge or denture (false teeth).
What are dental implants?
Dental Implants are Titanium posts inserted into the bone, the bone then grows and integrates into the post providing a solid anchor for a crown, bridge abutment or denture attachment.
Implants are very specialised and are very dependent on the health of your mouth, some chronic diseases such as diabetes or osteoporosis can affect the success of the implant. Your dentist will discuss with you whether you are a suitable candidate for implants.
