Tooth reshaping

Have you ever felt like you wanted your tooth shortened, rounded, smoothed or straightened?

In very simple cases a little reshaping or adding of a tooth coloured material (white filling) can produce the effect of straightening a tooth and improving the overall appearance.

This is a very minimally invasive procedure, whereby very little tooth substance is removed, but can provide a dramatic improvement to the appearance of your smile.

An example of this is where a tooth has chipped due to trauma, giving an uneven edge to the biting surface of a tooth. The dentist will smooth or add to the chipped tooth surface to even out the rough edge and give the appearance of straightness again.

If the the appearance you desire cannot be carried out simply by reshaping the tooth, other treatment options are available such as the placement of porcelain tooth veneers, crowns and tooth whitening to name a few. The best option is to have a consultation with your dentist to discuss your concerns and decide upon the correct treatment plan together.
